Gave clerk the sandwich (young male late 20’s). He split the ‘wich apart, putting my dl and cc on the keyboard and laying the $20 in the counter beside his keyboard. As he was doing that I asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available. BEFORE he looked at his computer, he said, No, we don’t do that here.” After he looked at his computer he said, “You’ve already booked a (MOnaco) suite.” Umm, yeah, but I wanted a Diamond suite! Oh, and he proceeds to say he has a suite on the 3rd floor or if we waited 15 minutes we could have one on the 13th floor. What hotel has a 13th floor??? He bundled up the sandwich and handled everything back when he was done with my dl and cc. back the $20

We checked in pretty late, after 5pm. The hotel seemed pretty busy since it’s the Sat of halloween weekend. I didn’t think it was going to work but decided to give it a shot anyways. It’s Vegas afterall.

The clerk was cute and had a nice smile. I thought she’s worth talking to even if we don’t get the upgrade. To my surprise, she smiled when she saw the bill and returned it. But said she’ll see if she could find anything nicer. To my surprise, she had us upgraded to a nice room on the 31st floor.

Reserved standard deluxe room for 2 nights. Gave the guy a $20 and asked for something nice. Gave me a high floor deluxe with pool view and a fridge. Gave me a bunch of coupons and club passes too.

After awkwardly giving him a $20 tip, he claims that check-in is going to people on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and that he was doing me a favor by putting me on the 22nd. No view of the strip though…

It was fairly busy, considering it was the weekend of new years eve. He ended up giving us a lot of coupons we never used, but the place as a whole was way too expensive for what we got to begin with.

Arrived around 3:30PM. Went to what appeared to be the quickest line as it was fairly crowded at check in. Clerk was a woman maybe 30 years old. Had a 4 nite res with 3 nites comped through an email from their marketing division. Figured I was already a winner so why not try the sandwich. Simply placed the $20 bill between my credit card and drivers license and asked if there might be any complimentary upgrades. Clerk put me into a deluxe room on the 30th floor with a view of the strip. Will definately try again the next time in Vegas.

My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to try to get an upgrade to a spa suite at the Monte Carlo. I slipped the clerk a $20 between my CC and my ID. I told him it was our anniversary and it was our first time in Vegas. He told us congrats and said he’d see what he could do. After conferring with his manager for a minute, he came back and upgraded us to a high floor strip view room. Not the spa suite, but a fun time regardless!!

We were offered via the monte carlo’s player card email 3 free nites in a deluxe room because of our stay and play 6 months earlier.So we booked thru the hotel a sat to sat one week stay.We got in around 6 pm sat night,we walked up to the first available clerk.
A girl in her mid 20’s.I produced my i.d. and inquired about our reservation,she said they had us booked for a one week stay in a deluxe room.I then asked if it was possible to get an upgrade to a monaco suite,i then took a folded $20 and dropped it on her keyboard.She then said well lets see what we can do.we were told that there were no monaco suites that night but starting tomorow for an additional $40/nite we could upgrade.we said ok,the next night the monaco suite was not ready till 7 p.m. so i went down to work the desk,and was promptly given that night free.
When we checked out, the casino comped us our last nite also.So in the end for a seven night stay we payed for only 3 nights (4 comped) plus the additional 4 nights of upgrades.we were charged $403, but our bill should have been $1166.
Hmmmmmmm maybe this is more of a casino comp story than a $20 tip story.

Asked clerk if there were any complimentary room upgrades available as I handed him the $20 sandwich. Got a strip view room on the 25th floor. Very helpful clerk. Also got 2 for 1 buffet coupon.

it was a friday afternoon around 3pm, saw a very cute clerk smiling so i walked up, told her my name, gave her the sandwich and she gave the 20 back saying she cant accept it, and i just asked if there is a complimentary upgrade with a strip view and she said yes there is… got the room in just seconds and she was very very nice…
