i got in line at the front desk (a lot of people) and i get up to meet the woman checking us in i handed her my ID and CC when she saw the money she immediatly handed it back to me and said se would see what she could do finally we just get the room we booked and it has a stain on the door, left over socks, card on the floor and the automatic curtains don’t work its not a bad plan to do this but you got to do it when they’re not so busy
Arrived at 6:00pm on a Thursday. After 5 minutes in line I was directed to the desk and greeted by a young, female clerk. Gave her a $25 sandwich and stated that I’d be grateful if she could do anything to make my stay more comfortable. She asked if I’d like change…told her “no thanks”. After two minutes on her computer she gave me a room on the 38th floor with a view of the strip, while adhering to the low-floor/bad-view rate.
Had discounted rates at $99/night on weekends and had reserved a king suite. Handed with the sandwich and asked if i can get a room with a view. I then asked for 2 beds. “No Problem” he said. The desk was busy and people on both sides of us could hear our conversation. After a few minutes he told me the different rooms they had available and pretty much let me choose. Got a nice view of both Palazzo and Venetian pools on the 40th floor near the north end of the building.
Checked in about 9 pm on Thursday night. Handed the sandwich over and the clerk asked if I wanted change. I said “no, is there anything you could do to make our stay more comfortable?” Worked like a charm, great strip view on the 42nd floor at the very end of the hall on the north end of the hotel.
This was my 2nd attempt at the tip. My first time was also a success at the Bellagio. I was not able to choose the front desk clerk, there was a kind host directing check-in lineup. I was lucky enough to get a young female to help with my upgrade. Saved $50/night by simply asking, “Do you have any complimentary upgrades?”, and she left for about 5 mins to get approval from the manager.
Worked well. At first, the checkin clerk declined the tip as there were ample people around. We kept the cash close by and when others moved, she took the sandwich
Received offer in the mail for “2-4 complimentary suite nights” at Venetian or Palazzo on “select value days.” Couldn’t believe this, as I am not a high-roller and only gave the V and the P brief gambling business the past two years, with small bets. Booked the comped suite for four nights starting on a Monday. Arrived, went to “Invited Guest Check-in.” I was worried that I was two hours early before official check-in time (3pm). I am male, the clerk was female, approx. my age. I flirted a little by, complimenting her on her necklace, and presented DL, CC, and the $20 along with my reservation information. I asked for a room on a higher floor. She gave me a view on the 41st floor and I got early check-in! Well worth it!
Booked 2 Bella Non View suites, 3 guests per suite. Put the $50 between the DL and CC. Before I could say anything the clerk slid the bill into his pocket and said “I assume you are looking for two nice view suites”. I said yes please. He asked if the 41st floor overlooking TI would do. I said yes. I asked for and also got two comped fridges.
10.30am Check in, the $20 was appreciated, it not only got us in very early, but a fantastic strip view 🙂
