Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Tower Lake View  from  Deluxe Lake View

I checked in on a busy Sunday AM and had booked a Deluxe Lake view room. I slipped the guy a $20 between my DL and CC and asked if the had any complimentary upgrades. He didnt skip a beat and started looking through is computer. I was hoping to get a Bellagio Suite or better but only got a Tower King Lake View. It was ACM weekend so that may have had something to do with it. All in all i think it was worth the upgrade. Had great views of the strip from windows on each side of my room and another from the large upgraded bathroom. Worth the $20. I tried this at Encore and didnt work but i think they are known for that. Will try again.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Resort Deluxe King, floor 22  from  Bellagio King, levels below 12

It wasn’t busy so the we were immediately directed to the first available front desk agent.
This was my first try with the $20 trick/tip and I handed it over with my 2 id cards and before I could say anything else she quickly looked over to her boss and said “So you would like an upgrade -lets see what we can do” She didn’t have a suite or fountain view due to the spring break crowd but did put us up on the 22nd floor in a newly renovated room. Loved the new beds!
Don’t bother with a song and dance they know what the 20 dollars is for but just being respectful and kind is all that it really takes.

Tipped:  $50 Upgraded to  Lakeview Room  from  Standard Deluxe

My lover Eric and I planned a trip to Bellagio in January for Valentines Day in Vegas. We figured we’d stay in luxury while we partied over at Krave for Tighty Whitey Tuesdays 😉 We checked in with a young man who looked to be a fellow card carrying member of our orientation and slipped him a $50 under my ID. He said I think I know what you’re looking for and smiled. I gave him a wink and said I’m sure you do Cowboy 😉 Presto! A Lakeview room with a view of the strip. An excellent way to slip a $50 sandwich and gay it up in Vegas!

Tipped:  $100 Upgraded to  Penthouse Suite  from  Bellagio Suite

I never seem to be able to target anyone that is recommend by people here. Its just not that easy to do so. It was a Wednesday around 3. Since I was staying for 2 days I did $100. All I did was hand the sandwich and the clerk knew right away and she asked me what I was looking for. I asked for a bigger room and I was lucky and was able to get it.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Brand New Renovated KING room  from  Deluxe Room - No View

I was travelling with my husband, my sister and brother-in-law. I called a few days ahead to inquire about what room I had booked, so I new what I already had. I had familiarized myself with the various room’s and what each possible view was. I asked at that time if there was any room upgrades avail as we were celebrating 2 birthdays……..he replied sure for 50 bucks a night you can. I declined…….but asked him to note the bdays on my file….
Arrived at Bellagio Nov 3/11 at approx 1030am no lines for check in so I had the luxury of picking any agent I wanted! I picked a really NICE looking girl (compared to a few others that looked like they were ready to hit a club, rather than work the desk) she was all smiles (as I was also) my brother-in-law and I approached the desk and we both handed her our “sandwiches” and remarked at how happy we were to be at the Bellagio…..blah blah small talk…….by the way aer there any complimentary upgrades??
Well she saw/removed the $20 bill each of us had provided and she went to work! She was on that keyboard like crazy – as you have to snag rooms fast before someone else does. She offered us a few choices……each better than the next. I finally settled on a big brand newly renovated KING room which was 10x better than the old one I would have gotten, plus I go the pool view (keep in mind this was during the SEMA convention and the hotel was 98% full) My brother-in-law scored the same type room on the same floor (which we were hoping for) just not the great pool view I had……….all in all I believe I scored great and would reccommend this trick to anyone! (Also freely asked hotel conceirge for any deals to Absinthe show and received $20 bucks off per ticket) no sandwich offered.
Vegas expects you to ask – otherwise they certainly won’t be offering it.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Salone Suite - View of the fountains and strip  from  Salone Suite - No view

I called ahead to find out how much it would be to upgrade our not-so-awesome-view Salone Suite to a view of the fountains. This was our first trip to Vegas and it was also our anniversary. I was told that I could book the room with the better view for $200 extra. I said ‘No, thank you,’ and thought we would take our chances on this trick (we had already spent an insane amount because we had to go and have our anniversary be on a holiday weekend).

I had the $20 sandwich pre-prepared and when we checked in I calmly and sweetly told the woman at the desk that it was our first time in Vegas and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available. She took the $20 and set it in front of her and was on the phone for about 20 minutes so we weren’t sure if it was going to work or not. Turns out we got an amazing room with a view of the fountains and we loved it. Good luck, everyone!

Tipped:  $30 Upgraded to  Deluxe Room - King Bed  from  Standard Room - Double Beds

Arrived around 3PM at the Bellagio, the lobby was very busy with others arriving as well.
I looked around an choose the shortest line.
When It was my turn I exclaimed – “It is wonderful to finally be here after a long day of travel.” My partner and I can now celebrate our anniversary! I gave the lady my credit card and license along with $25. I mentioned to her our 13 year celebration can be inhanced if we got a room upgrade overlooking the fountian/lake. She spent about 3 minutes trying to search and came back with several options. I decided for the best one. 15 floor – Deluxe Kings Size Bed – Huge Bathroom. It wasn’t ready for another 30 minutes which I didn’t mind waiting for. She sent me on my way. Later that evening, she requested the hotel send my partner and I a lovely box of Bellagio Chocolates, welcoming us to the Hotel and to enjoy our stay. We had a wonderful stay! Our room was over sized and just huge. The view was awesome and we even got to see fireworks too! Can’t wait to visit again next summer…

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Full view of Lake  from  Partial view of the Lake/ Regular room

I walked into the Bellagio around 3:30 PM to check in. I was greeted by a woman and walked over to a short line. The available desk person was then a man of his early 30’s. I had prepared the “$20 sandwich” while waiting in line. The gentleman asked for my ID and credit card and I handed the sandwich to him. With his thumb, he pushed the two cards apart to reveal the $20 and at that time I asked “Do you have have any complimentary upgrades available?” He replied,” Let me see what I can do?”
A couple of keystrokes later he had upgraded me with a room smack in the middle over the looking the Bellagio lake. Had to be one of the best views in the hotel. I never saw him magically make the $20 disappear. It was brilliant. I’ve told everyone I know about the website and “$20 sandwich!”
