There’s definitely demand for hotel rooms off the Vegas Strip. This year the Plaza will offer a newly upgraded hotel room called Luxe Rooms. El Cortez is also upgrading more of their hotel rooms.
Plaza Luxe Rooms
The new Luxe Rooms at the Plaza have similar design details as the recently renovated pool suites. As you can see in the photo above, the rooms have warm wood tones and mixed metals with bold colors and graphics.
The rooms feature laminate flooring with area rugs and a barn door entry into the bathrooms. These completely new bathrooms have custom vanities, oversized walk-in showers, quartz counters and a blend of dimensional tiles.
In addition to the new décor, the Luxe Rooms offer modernized entertainment and climate control systems. Each room has an Amazon Echo Dot within the alarm clock that allows guests to use general Alexa commands to check the weather, play music, etc. Alexa can also be used to contact the hotel staff to requesting housekeeping, reserving a pool cabana, or making dinner reservations.
The best new features might be the inclusion of multiple USB outlets, a coffee maker, and a mini refrigerator to store leftover slices of Pop Up Pizza.
El Cortez Renovates More Rooms
Last year El Cortez started their room renovation project with 73 rooms Tower Rooms. This year they’ll be renovating another four floors in the same tower. This time 64 rooms will be upgraded and renovated.
Once again the theme of the new rooms will be modern vintage. Similar to the Plaza upgrades these rooms feature warm wood tones, area rugs, coffee makers, and a large flat screen TV. The bathrooms have subway tiles on the walls with artistic floor designs and a walk-in shower.
New Rooms Give Reasons To Upgrade
When all of the rooms in a hotel are similar there isn’t always a need to ask for an upgrade beyond the view. That changes when room categories have drastic differences from the base rooms. These upgraded rooms offer a better experience than the older rooms in each hotel.
