Tipped:  $50 Upgraded to  Penthouse Suite "Nice"  from  Premier

Checked in about 9pm on a busy friday, Paris had a promotion for Free Wii with stay and prior to leaving we found that they were all booked up.. We had reserved our room with the free room/ free Wii package and were not surprised to see that. No way in Platinum line as it was late, we got a lady named BO at the desk. Did the sandwich with a $50, she noticed it and said nothing.. As it was my first attempt at this I started to mumble a bit about just hopin for the best, she helped me out by cuttin me short and saying she was looking for something good. She said she thought we would be happy, she was putting us in a penthouse suite that she said would go for $1800 a night. Wow she was not kidding we got room 3383P an “NICE Suite” on the top floor. It was huge with living room, dining room, bar, two bathrooms, bidet and very large jacuzzi tub. Excellent experience as well because we order room service nearly every day when me make it back to the room and I tell you they really hustled to get our food the the penthouse, wait time would be 45 min to an hour but our order was always up in 15. All around awesome!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Lamans Suite  from  Standard Comp Room

Did the $20 sandwich trick and was upgraded to a Lemans suite. Was all excited etc until I posted my results on tripadvisor when someone informed me that was standard for Harrah’s gold card members. Oh well, my wife and I loved the suite with jacuzzi tub in her bathroom. No view but who cares? We were up til 5am every morning and didn’t go to vegas to look at a bunch of flashing lights.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Renovated Suite  from  Base

Did the $20 between ID and CC and asked if there were any “complimentary upgrades” available. He gave me a smile and knowing nod and said he’d see what he could do. He found us a newly renovated room for free but since it was close to the time they release the suites he asked if I’d be interested in upgrading to a $800-$1,200/night suite for $85 more. Having never been in a suite before I thought I might as well. He found one that had also been newly renovated. It was gorgeous, awesome room. Worth the extra money.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Calais suite  from  Standard

Clerk asked if I was interested in an upgrade for $$, and I politely said, “No, thanks.” I then handed her my DL/$20/CC and said that I would be interested in a complimentary upgrade. She went in the back room for about 5 minutes. When she came back out, she said, “We don’t provide complimentary upgrades, but this seems like a special night. We can put you in a nice room.” The suite was nice, but in dire need of a renovation. She even called after we arrived in the room to see if everything was alright. I would have been pissed if I had paid rack rate for the run down rooms at Paris.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Le Mans suite  from  comp.deluxe

Once again being nice to the people behind the counter and a twenty dollar tip worked. Our first room seemed very small but the Le Mans suite was well over 1000 sq. ft. GO FOR IT !

Tipped:  $0 Upgraded to  beautiful suite  from  cheapest

We were to LV for a convention so a very basic room was covered. We got in 14 hours late (Jet Blue didn’t assign me a seat, just my husband so we bounced around the east coast first) very tired & bedraggled we went to the clerk, explained our delay & asked how much an upgrade would cost, it was about $45, we happily took it, at the last second he said ‘I think you’ll like the room’. It was absolutely gorgeous, bathroom w/a jacuzzi, a dressing room, sitting area, plasma tv, basket of fruit etc. Clearly he went beyond the $45 ‘slightly better room, as we’re at capacity’ I went down to thank him & he refused my tip, we had a great 5 days & we barely gambled!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Penthouse Suite (Rm 3328P the "Nice")  from  Standard Room

Checked in at 3:00 AM, had no line and walked up to a gentleman with id, credit card and $20. Asked if there were any comp upgrades available and explained I was coming in from a long drive from LA. He clearly saw the $20, typed some on the computer, made a call to “free up a room” and booked me for two days into a 33rd floor suite. It had no view, and the room was older but it was a very nice suite with two bathrooms, a jet tub and bidet in one. A large living room/dining room overall over 1000 sq feet.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Calais suite  from  standard comped room

So very easy! Went up to the Platinum line, explained it was my birthday two days before (true) and asked for a nice room. She said that I would be happy with this room, and I was. Great view of the pool and the Bellagio fountains, and a nice (though somewhat quirky….for example, dining table, but no desk) suite.
