Tipped:  $50 Upgraded to  Top Floor Suite  from  Comped through Total Rewards

Arrived at the hotel about 9am. Looked at the counter a few male and a couple of female was working. Female in the platinum line up, went in that line up with my friend. We handed her the credit card and drivers license asked if there were any upgrades, she looked at her computer and said she could get me into the Red Room and then I asked for a suite she said that the suites werent avaible and something about an audit. She saw the $50 and said well check out the Red Room and let me know within the hour if you like it or not. Went up to the room was a bit small went back down and stuck $40 with the room cards told her that my friend was going to get married so I needed a bigger room cause I wanted to have the groomsman and our friends to come to our room to have some drinks before we went out for my friends stag thursday night. She looked at her computer again and said that theres one that was getting cleanned up so I had to hang tight for about half hour or so.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  red room luxury room  from  luxury room

Checked in about 8:30PM hardly any line. Didn’t know what to expect since it was labor day weekend, a busy time in Vegas. Didn’t target anyone in particular and the check in girl was very nice. Handed her my CC and ID with a $20 in it, she quickly noticed it and said “I’m sorry we don’t accept tips before we give you a room, but if you’d like to tip me after I give you your keys, that’s fine. Now let’s see what we can do.” She handed me back the $20, typed away for a minute and said she could offer a red room with a non strip view or a regular room with a strip view. I chose the red room with a non strip view on the 25th floor. When she handed me my room key, I had the $20 tucked in my hand and she grabbed it as I grabbed the room key and the coupon booklet. My wife laughed at me prior to trying this trick, but I was the one laughing when it was over.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Lyons Suite  from  Luxury Room

We checked in late (around 10 p.m.) on a Thursday night. When handing the clerk the $20 sandwich, I said, “If you have any complimentary suite upgrades, we’d really appreciate anything you can do.” She began searching and said the only thing she could find was a smoking room. We said that would be OK and she gave us the keys to 3164P. The double doors had a metal plaque designating the room as a Lyons Suite. I’m not sure exactly how large it was, but I’m guessing around 1,200 square feet. It had two bathrooms, two TVs, wet bar, bedroom, living room and dining room. The three-night upgrade was well worth the $20 tip.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Lyon Suite  from  Luxury Room

This was back on 2/21/09. There was a long line we were hoping to get a person that fits the profile as we have had luck at other sister properties with this. We got checked in by a lady who was mentioned by name before on this site and we gave her the sandwich she didn’t hide the $$ which made us worried but then she assured us we would be very happy with our stay there. We were the Lyon Suite was perfect living room/dinning room two restrooms master bedroom. Hubby had a great B-Day!!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  LeMans Suite  from  Standard room

Stood in line at Paris at about 10:00pm to check in. It was a slow week night in Vegas, but the same night the Aria was opening. I was motioned over to the check-in clerk manning the “Diamond Club” Registration area. I arrived and fanned the sandwich with the strategically placed $20, so she could see it as I gave it too her and asked if she had any complimentary upgrades available. After a bit of chit-chat, she gave me my room keys and off I went. A listed $75 per night upgrade for a $20 sandwich. Not a bad deal! Looking forward to doing this again!

Tipped:  $50 Upgraded to  LeMans Suite on 31st Floor  from  Luxury

Late Check-In.. Asked how busy they were and if there was any possibility of an upgrade, while placing cash on top of the desk. Clerk asked what I had in mind and I asked for Calais Suite. She did some searching and gave me a LeMans Suite on the 31st floor facing the mountains.

Requested complimentary upgrade to room with a view. Had booked with players card.Clerk stated it would be $65/night extra & declined tip. I kept room as reserved & ended up on 19th floor overlooking roofs,& alley with a view of Ballys. No mountains, no strip, just concrete– which I was trying to avoid.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  lyon suite  from  comped premium suite

Gave the girl the sandwich, when she saw it she made a high pitched “ohhhh” sound which almost made me crack up. She then told me they were out of regular rooms and ask if I wanted the presidential suite. I accepted. The suite is one of their best and I don’t think it’s opened to the public since you can’t book this online.
