We didn’t choose anyone specifically and it was the morning time around 11:30am. I asked about a complimentary upgrades and mentioned it was our anniversary. We were upgraded to the casino tower with an amazing city view and they also gave us a smoking room and waived the early check in fee
Booked thru SouthWest travel and got a “deluxe room” which turned out to be in the Paradise Tower – i asked if there were any free upgrades and she said Casino Tower either side – chose the mountain view (pools were closed anyways). Loved the opening doors on the balcony and enjoyed the views! I already had the $20 out so I just gave it to her anyways, but i really didn’t need to.
Asked for a complimentary room upgrade and gave a $40 sandwich. I expected to get upgraded to a suite, since that was the next room type up from what I booked. Instead the guy acted appreciative but simply put me in a Casino Tower room that was identical to the one I already had! I don’t care about the view, I just wanted a fancier room. I was very disappointed and on the 2nd day of my stay I went and asked for a suite upgrade, willing to pay whatever it took. Turns out a suite upgrade was $40 to begin with.
We checked in very late ~ 1am due to a delay. The clerk told us to come back the next morning for our room upgrade. We stayed one night in the Paradise Tower room, returned to the front desk the next morning and got a beautiful room in the Casino Tower!
Slipped $40 between card and id. Woman at the desk asked, “How can I help you today?” I asked if there were any upgrades available. Few keystrokes and was on my way to a corner king room. Saved about $200 for the 3 nights I was there.
Slipped $40 in between Driver’s License and Credit Card. At first she acted totally shocked and surprised when she saw the money and I said “Please let me know if you have any upgrades available. If not, that’s alright.” And she said “Lemme look,” and upgraded us to a pool suite. Probably saved about $100. She then said “This is *very* appreciated. Always.” Like she was trying to encourage me to do it again.
Check in time is at 3pm or something, right? Well, we showed up at 3am, the previous morning.
Head to the desk, we’re tired, we want a room. Sorry, we’re full and busy this weekend, best I can do is to wait until at least noon to check in, but we can hold your bags at the bell desk.
Ok, are there any upgrades or anything we can purchase just so we can sleep? Here, I can give you this (passed a nice, fresh $100 bill).
Click click click on the keyboard, yeah I have something, but in a different tower. Fine with us!
Got upgraded to the new tower, bigger room, overlooking the pool for 3 nights. Best $100 I ever spent.
A 20 has gotten me a room way before 4PM check in, and also got me into their nicer Paradise tower with strip view (but 2 beds).
If they have availability a 50 has gotten me into the HRH tower, a 1,000sqft suite, and a corner king. During the week my buddy did the same and got a $400/night bachelor party room for $100/night.
I was checked in by a young female clerk. It was around 7pm. I got my resort fee waived for one night too!
I had been told check in started at 4pm when I booked the reservations. I called the day of at noon and I asked if I could check in early and if I could get a room upgrade. They agreed to both and had my room ready and waiting when I arrived at 1pm. This was a Saturday. Always try calling first before you arrive. What could it hurt? If that doesn’t work then you can try the 20$ tip trick.
