Get Ready For New Nightlife From Intrigue And Jewel

Posted on Categories Activities

Las Vegas is home to some of the most popular nightclubs in America. Just two years ago the four nightclubs in America that generated the most revenue were in Las Vegas (XS at Wynn, Hakkasan at MGM Grand, Marquee at Cosmopolitan and Tao at The Venetian). Expand the list to 10 and Las Vegas accounted for 7 of the top 10 highest revenue generating nightclubs in the country according to Nightclub & Bar.

Nightlife has always been an attraction to Las Vegas but in the past 5 years or so nightlife really became a major attraction. Nightclubs have become so popular in Las Vegas that people are now planning trips to Las Vegas just for the nightclub experience. It makes sense as nightclubs have become experiences that are more akin to major music events thanks to the popularity of DJ’s and EDM. There have always been hot nightclubs but visiting was generally planned around partying and not to see a particular performer or DJ.

Intrigue

Trends come and go in nightlife and Las Vegas is always looking for something new. Even if a concept is working it may not be cutting edge enough to stay around forever. That was the case with Tryst. The nightclub at Encore was popular but there was nothing to set it apart from just being another nightclub to visit because it’s in Las Vegas.

There are few things that make nightlife less interesting than just existing. In the case of Tryst, it was the lowest club on the totem pole of nightlife at Wynn and Encore behind XS and Surrender. Being third isn’t bad with that but it why not strive to be better? Instead of being happy with just having another club Wynn nightclub operations have decided to look forward with a new concept. After all, if people were going to Tryst just because it was another club in Las Vegas why not try something new that could be even bigger, better and the future of nightclubs.

Tryst closed late last year after a 10-year run and will reopen on April 28 as a totally reimagined nightclub called Intrigue. The nightclub won’t simply be redecorated and opened with a similar concept. Intrigue will offer a different nightclub experience. One of the major goals with Intrigue is to make every experience different than the last time you visited.

There will be a visual aspect to Intrigue that changes often. Literally. The type of paint that they’re using on the walls will allow the colors of Intrigue to change. Mark Shunock, who previously narrated “Rock of Ages” is the creative director of Intrigue. His theater background will bring a different life to Intrigue by offering a unique blend of entertainment beyond just another big name DJ dropping beats.

Tickets for the opening night of Intrigue (4/28) are on sale now and only $20 for women and $30 for men. You can find more information here.

Jewel

Aria is one of the busiest and most popular casinos on the Vegas Strip. When the property opened in 2009 its nightclub was called Haze. The nightclub was never very popular and it wasn’t a surprise to see it close in late 2014. Fast forward to 2016 and a new nightclub called Jewel will open in the space formerly occupied by Haze. The new nightclub will be operated by the same people that brought you Hakkasan at MGM Grand and Omnia at Caesars Palace, Hakkasan Group. These are two of the most popular clubs in Las Vegas so big things are expected and the same should be expected of Jewel once it opens.

Jewel opens on May 19th and will rely less on being a new and different nightclub experience and will follow the recipe that seems to make nightclubs popular in Las Vegas today. The nightclub will use a combination of famous DJ’s and performers alongside big name hosts. Opening weekend for Jewel will feature Jamie Fox hosting the opening night, Lil Jon getting crunk during the weekend and The Chainsmokers will be dropping beats.

Hakkasan Group has connections with some of the biggest DJ’s in the world so expect an announcement of their DJ roster in the near future. Tickets are on sale for Jewel’s opening weekend. You can find more information here.
