Renovations At The Cosmopolitan, Bally’s And Palace Station

Posted on Categories Casino, Hotels

Las Vegas isn’t seeing new casinos pop up with any regularity yet but we’re seeing plenty of renovations and upgrades. In the past week, we’ve learned about two new hotel room renovations. We’ve also learned that another casino will continue their year-long renovations and upgrades.

Major Room Renovations At The Cosmopolitan

The Cosmopolitan has been changing ever since the Blackstone Group took over the property after purchasing the casino in 2014. There have been lots of changes at the Cosmopolitan since we updated you on lots of changes in 2015. The casino has continued to improve and they expect a huge increase in revenue this year. Maybe this is why there are rumors swirling about the Cosmopolitan being sold soon. The next set of upgrades may turn up the heat on the sale rumor next year.

The latest changes announced for the Cosmopolitan are a total renovation to all 2,895 hotel rooms. These will be the first updates to the hotel rooms since the Cosmopolitan opened in 2010. These renovations will be significant. Patrick Nichols, senior vice president of strategy and business development told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that they “are stripping the rooms down to concrete floors and drywall.”

The hotel rooms will see new furniture, fixtures, and technology. Every room will have iPads so you can order rooms service, towels, and anything from housekeeping. Like Aria, the iPads will control the lighting and new 65” TVs.

Renovations have already started at the Boulevard Tower (closest to the Vegas Strip). These room upgrades should be complete by the end of the year. Renovations at the Chelsea Tower (closer to valet) will begin in January 2018 and should be complete before the year is over.

This might be a good time try the $20 Trick. This kind of upgrade to a new room is great if you want to be one of the first people to stay in one of the renovated rooms.

More Hotel Room Renovations For Caesars Entertainment

It feels like just a couple of weeks ago that we informed you about a slew of upgrades and renovations coming to Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas casinos and hotels. The Caesars Palace and Harrah’s room renovations are on schedule to be completed by the end of 2017. The Flamingo hotel room renovations we told you about earlier this year are still on schedule to be complete in 2018.

Caesars Entertainment recently revealed that they will be renovating rooms at Bally’s in 2018. The entire Indigo Tower will receive new hotel rooms by the end of the next year. By the time 2018 is over most Caesars Entertainment hotel rooms in Las Vegas will have been renovated in the past 3 or 4 years.

Even More Palace Station Renovations

Palace Station has been undergoing renovations all year long. The renovation of the property will add a resort style pool (think Red Rock Casino), luxury movie theaters, a casino bar, a sports book bar, and another new restaurant.

When you look at Palace Station from the street you can see the first of the renovations that have taken place this year. The exterior facade looks modern and similar to what you might expect to see at Red Rock Casino. The porte-cochere, casino valet, and a new bingo room. Palace Station also has plans to open two new restaurants.
