Stood on line for a while and finally got directed to a female clerk who was young. Told her that it was my first time in Vegas, and slipped her a $50. She put me in a villa that is on the golf course! Nicest room I’ve ever been in. Best $50 I ever spent.
I checked in on Saturday afternoon. I got a rate of $130 a night for the Wynn Resort room from Priceline. This was UFC/Superbowl weekend so they were busy. I stood in line for the only guy at the front desk. I put a $20 bill, he took my cards and dropped the $20 on his keyboard. He did not say anything. In the middle, we just made small talk and he whispered saying that he would upgrade me to Encore Suite with a nice view. Everything went perfect. The next day, I went with a friend, to check it for our 2nd and 3rd night. Tipped him another $30 this time and he did the same for us for another 2 nights under my friends name which was already casino comped.
Just went for a bachelor party. We reserved four rooms for 16 guys. We decided that we would tip 100 just to be safe. We thought 20 might not have been enough for all four rooms.
Well – we easily could have tipped 20 because she was more then happy to upgrade us once she felt the cash under the credit card. She just put the CC down in front of the keyboard and started looking for upgrades immediately. The CC was on top of the cash so she didn’t even know how much was there. I guess she may have read this website and thought it was a 20. I’m sure she was surprised when she got home.
In either case – all four rooms were upgraded to the panoramic view floor 53- all on the same floor
Booked a Resort room through Travelocity, when I got into Wynn it was about 2PM. Looked over the lines and slicked back my hair with my hands and then licked my thumbs and combed back my eyebrows. Walked up to a guy who looked like he knew what he was doing. I had previously folded the $20 into a little origami frog. I slid it over to him with my ID. Gave him a wink and then asked if he could hook me up.
He typed about 50 keys and came back with a Villa upgrade right by the fairway. Then he gave me the keys and touched my hand. Didn’t think anything of it. Later, while I was in the Villa around 10PM I hear the doorbell ring and think it is the dinner I ordered but actually it is the desk guy and he’s dressed to the nines and looks like he’s ready to party. I said WTF and then he left. I got downgraded 15 minutes later.
We checked in on Sunday around 3pm. Not much people cheking in, so I went for a blonde 25 to 30 year old clerk and asked for a complimentary upgrade. She returned the 20$s immediately and told me, that management doesn’t allow any complimentary upgrades anymore and she would get in big trouble, if she would give us a better room for free. So we ended up with a 25$ upgrade for a panoramic view instead of 50$.
I didn’t choose a clerk, I just was in line and got a nice one by chance. I had a $20 with my ID and credit card. I asked “are there any upgrades available”? And he put my $20 aside, took my ID and credit card and said I’ll see what I can do. Then he typed in some info and then went into the back room. He came back out and told me he can get me a panoramic view on the 58th floor. He gave me my cards back and gave me room keys. The $20 was still on the counter, neither of us touched it. I said thank you and left it there. 🙂
Checked in on a Thursday night around 9PM. Went to the clerk, male, and checked was checking in for only one night. Had the 20 in between and asked for a complimentary strip view upgrade. He typed some stuff in and at the end, told me here you go, you have been upgraded to a panoramic view. I went upstairs and checked out the my view…..view of Encore. This prick took my money and gave me nothing in return. I sucked it up and left early morning to Venetian. This has worked for me many times at the Wynn and have received Encore upgrades but received nothing from a 20 this time. Looks like they are getting strict on upgrades.
Did the 20 dollar sandwich asked if they had any complimentary upgrades, clerk immediately took the 20 and put it back on the counter and said they were booked solid.
Not only did they not have an upgrade, she said they didn’t have the room available that we had booked (King Bed, non smoking). We ended up with a 60th floor room but WITH smoking. Amazing view, but smoking rooms for a non-smoker are awful.
Amazing to me that they had no rooms as the hotel was freakin dead and every dealer was complaining about how slow the hotel was. Not impressed at all with the Wynn and what is supposed to be the most customer friendly hotel on the strip.
Didn’t even have to ask. Clerk was very professional. Got a stunning view of the strip on the 50th floor. Def. worth the $20.
Checked in at around 6 and gave 20 with my ID and card, she promptly placed the 20 on counter. I then asked if i could be on a high floor and she said “The highest I have with 2 beds is 14 unless you pay 25 a night for a panoramic view” I asked if they could upgrade me complimentry and she said they no longer do that. I paid the 25 a night and stayed on the 54th floor with view of golf course, also took back my 20.
