Didnt choose a specific clerk, and we checked in at around 2PM. Booked through hotwire, and the front desk clerk was very nice (25 year old woman). I put a 40 between my passport and cc, and she gave us a premium view upgrade (so we saved about half the price 40$+ per night), the 40 mightve been unnecessary (20 probably would have been fine). Think i could’ve asked for resort fee waives, but didn’t push it. She also gave us a late checkout for 1PM. Overall we saved money and didnt lose any, so thats a good gamble.

Luckily received clerk at right end. Very pleasant to speak with and acknowledged the sandwich right away. Even asked if I needed change, which I declined. It was 3PM, right at check-in time. We were meant to stay on a lower floor, but were upgraded to the 31st floor with a few of the strip. Saved $60 (minus the $20)

Saved:  $300$ with fridge rental and resort fee waived + high floor upgrade Tipped:  $40 Upgraded to  Luxury Suite  from  Luxury Suite

We were assigned to a younger female with dark hair at check in at about 6 PM. We handed her our ID and credit card with 40$ sandwiched in between and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades. Her customer service smile turned into an actual smile and she told us she’ll see what she can do. She asked what bed type we wanted and I told her it didn’t matter as long as the room was bigger. She told us straight up that there were no bigger rooms at this time (covid reducing hotels to only 50% capacity), but she waived the resort fee for our 3 night stay (triple what my tip was!), let us rent a fridge in our room for free (normally 40$ a night), and took off one of the mini bar items we ate. She also gave us a high floor and partial strip view which would have been another extra 30$ a night. I call that success, plus venetian is all suites anyways! 🙂

Saved:  $300 Tipped:  $50 Upgraded to  Luxury Suite  from  Luxury Suite

We arrived New Year’s Eve around 6pm! It was really busy so didn’t get the option to target anyone. I had 2 rooms booked that’s why i opted to put $50 in and I was hoping for a strip view too 😉 I knew that would be a hard ask seeing as it was New Years (and didn’t get it) The check in guy was really happy to help and was excited to see the $50! He gave us 2 rooms on a higher level which gave us a good view out the back. From memory it saved us around $300 in resort fees so overall a good investment!

Did the $50 sandwich checking in at the Venetian on a Monday night. The $50 bill was taken instantly and clerk put it in their pocket with no real attempt at making the move look subtle! Mentioned no change was required and special anniversary. Were staying 5 nights at Venetian. Asked for resort fee to be removed and a move to high floor at Palazzo if possible along with a suite upgrade. Secured one night’s resort fee removal (saved $51.02!) and an upgrade to a 45th floor strip view room at Palazzo. Base level suite but still lovely. All-in-all a minimum of c. $300 extra benefits by my reckoning so well worth doing. Will definitely do this again next time I return! Thanks to all contributors here on this site

Saved:  $250 Tipped:  $50 Upgraded to  Luxury Suite  from  Luxury Suite

We arrived around 8pm on Saturday and slipped 50 between my credit card and ID and asked if there were any complementary upgrades. She said she would see what she could do and went to the back to talk to her supervisor. When she came back she said she could upgrade us to a high strip view floor which usually runs $50 more.

Saved:  $240 Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Piazza Suite  from  Piazza Suite

I was half awake when checking in and forgot to ask for anything or offer the sandwich. When I checked out I asked if they could waive resort fees and he said they were locked to the reservation. I showed my room keys with a 20 between them and he said “let me see what I can do.” He waived $240 in resort fees and the damage from the waters and m&ms. I also asked for a 1pm checkout but didn’t leave til 3.

Saved:  $2000 Tipped:  $40 Upgraded to  Unsure  from  Bella Suite

Renaissance Suite – 35th floor looking over TAO Beach and the Strip ———— Bachelor party weekend! Booked the Bella suite for 2 people but 6 were staying. I am the best man and I was organizing everything. Flight was delayed 1 hr and I wanted to get there before the bachelor so I can try to surprise him. Got to the Ven around 445pm (way past check in time) and I was worried all the good rooms were going to be checked in. I lined up in the “invited guest” check in line because I used the Ven’s birthday promo code they have sent me months ago and it says that I can line up there. I was trying to target a lady (just because) but the line was so short (1 person behind me) that I had no choice but to go with a guy. I told the clerk how was his day and making small talk. Then I told him my reservation last name. When he asked for my ID and CC, I already prepared my $40 in between them in the cab ride and handed it to the clerk. I asked him very kindly right away if there was any complimentary upgrades and I said the “like the Rialto Suite” (since it’s just a bigger Bella suite ) …………… ((((be specific on the room type/name because if you don’t, you will probably just get a better view and nothing else. That means you have to do your homework on the rooms for that particular hotel. Don’t be afraid to go big. Doesn’t hurt to try)))) ………………… As he grabbed my ID and CC, (of course he already knew what was going on), he put the cards toward the end of the counter away from the cameras. Then he said he was going to to see what he can do and talk to the his manager as he was typing away (which he didn’t and didn’t even move). As that what was happening, the bachelor and his 3 other friends show up next to me. The clerk saw them and probably thought in his head that were here to party. Then I turn my attention back to the clerk. He then said this weekend is so busy that the Bella suites are going to be “all gone” and that I have this room available for you. He takes out a binder showing all the different rooms and shows me the “Renaissance Room”. I said I will gladly take it. He also asked If I wanted to have late check out but I kindly decline because I had a early flight Sunday. Also gave me a rollaway bed free of charge. Room was on the 35th floor overlooking Tao beach and the strip, one floor away from the top! Got my room keys and began a Epic weekend! …………….. (I really didn’t expect to get that room of a upgrade. I’m not sure if staying at the Ven couple of times help)
