Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Vegas Season Petite Suite  from  Vegas Season Deluxe

Came in around 1pm. Did not target any clerk, stood in line and waited for the next available which was an African American gal in her mid/late-20’s. Walked up to the counter with a smile & greeted a Good Afternoon. Slipped the $20 bw credit card and ID at check-in. She fanned out the sandwich, saw the $20, and had a big grin on her face while asking if I needed change. I proceeded to say, “no but was wondering if you had any complementary upgrades preferably with a large bathtub.” She nodded her head and started typing on her keyboard. She then proceeded to say “I can put you in a petite suite but unfortunately it’ll be on the a lower floor still with a strip view, is that ok? I said, perfect! Then she asked, do you like champagne, I said yes! With that said, also got comped a bottle of champagne! Best $20 spent!!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Vegas Season Strip View  from  Vegas Season Deluxe

We came in around 10pm on a random Wednesday in the middle of January so I had no doubt they had an upgrade available. One thing I haven’t read on this website is that some hotels cannot comp a suite during slow times of the year, or as what the concierge told me. Anyway we did the 20 buck sandwich then he said the “I’ll take care of you” line, then offered us a strip view on a higher floor also a champagne bottle. For 20 dollars why not? The best 20 I spent in Vegas tbh

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Vegas Season Petite Suite  from  Vegas Season Petite Suite

Friendly clerk. Took the money. No upgrade possible (no rooms), no coupons or other discounts. Should come another day and left a remark in the system.

Talked with another agent. Plenty of rooms available for upgrades she told me. However, no upgrade without extra payment.

In short: got nothing for the money.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Deluxe King With Strip View  from  Deluxe King Standard

Checked in at 330pm on a Wednesday via Priceline for 2 nights. We had never tried this before so we were extremely nervous but tried it anyway and IT WORKED! I flashed him my CC and ID with the $20 inside and he grabbed it out of my hand and said, “thank you for taking care of me, let me see what I can do for you”. He then gave us a deluxe corner room with a strip view on the 18th floor! This room had two windows instead of just the 1 and an extra 400 sq ft (great view of both the strip and the pool)! He also comped us a bottle of champagne and gave us a booklet with 2 for 1 buffet coupons, etc. Next time im going to ask them to waive my resort fees so we will see how that works lol! LOVE this trick!

Saved:  $530.00 Tipped:  $50 Upgraded to  Vegas Season Petite Suite  from  Vegas Season Deluxe

This was our third time in Vegas and second time trying the sandwich trick.

I read a bunch of reviews before we left and many people said that $20.00 can’t get you very much in Vegas anymore so I decided to try the $50.00 sandwich.

We checked in around 7:00 p.m on a Sunday. There was no line up. I handed over the $50.00 sandwich to a nice lady in her 20’s and asked if there were any complimentary room upgrades available. She said that she would take a look and went and spoke with her manager. She came back and said that nothing was available tonight but to check back with her first thing in the morning. She then offered us a free bottle of champagne which room service delivered. I came back the next morning and talked to her again and we got upgraded to the Petite Suite from a basic run of the mill room. The room was huge, had two bathrooms and a jacuzzi tub. We saved over $530.00 with this tip. I am 2/2 on the sandwich tricks, first at Planet Hollywood and now at TI. It is well worth the gamble. Better odds than any slot machine in Sin City!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Vegas Season Strip View  from  Vegas Season Deluxe

Checked in at 3:30pm on a Friday. Didn’t get the choice of check-in agent but the one I got was a 20-something female.

Did the trick as prescribed and she gave us two strip-view rooms (upgraded from deluxe) on the 33rd floor.

She also comped us a bottle of champagne for each room.

Didn’t get the resort fee waived, which was what I was hoping for, but we were able to partially see the Bellagio fountain show at night from the rooms.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Vegas Season Strip View  from  Vegas Season Deluxe

First time $20 trick attempt. I didn’t target anybody in particular and was called up by a 30’ish Asian male. It was right at check in time so 11am-2pm range.

I handed him the ID and CC with $20 sandwiched, and the “Do you have any complimentary upgrades available?” line. My reservation was for 5 nights so i was understandable if the upgrade was minimal.

Ended up getting 5 nights in a strip view on the 5th highest floor (25th floor i believe), and a bottle of champagne.

I wasn’t sure if it was an actual upgrade until i checked out and last second booked one more night. This time i didn’t do the $20 trick and the room and view were considerably worse.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  36th floor king  from  Single 2 queen

Checked in at 9pm on a Saturday, so I expected that there might not be any upgrades available. Multiple clerks were present, but only one group of customers was checking in as I approached. They stepped away, having finished checking in, and their clerk motioned for us to come over. I immediately put down the sandwich with the $20 bill poking out the front, introduced myself, and stated that I would like to check in please. I then immediately followed up by stating that my girlfriend and I were celebrating 2.5 years together, and asked if any complimentary upgrades were available. The $20 bill disappeared almost instantly, and both our clerk and another next to him began to grin (as did I). He said that they were mostly sold out, but asked if we minded a smoking room. I told him that it did not matter to us, and next thing we know he had us in a corner room on the 36th (top) floor with a stellar view of the strip. He even threw in a bottle of champagne! Will most likely try this trick again next time I’m in Vegas, and certainly if I’m at Treasure Island.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Vegas Season Strip View  from  Unsure

I wasn’t able to target a certain clerk, it’s the 4th of July and pretty busy. He asked for my ID and I handed him my ID, credit card, and $20 in between. I asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available and also threw in that it was our first time to Vegas. He gladly said he’d see what was available and looked for a bit on his computer and then went over to speak to his manager. We just booked a basic room (whatever we could get for cheap), but were upgraded to a renovated room on the 35th floor (2nd highest) with a view of the strip. He also comped us a bottle of champagne and a couple 2 for 1 buffet coupons. All in all a great experience!
