We stayed at PH April 18th-22nd. It was a really super nice front desk lady I just made some small talk with her explaining it was my mom and I’s first time in Vegas. I handed her my license and card with the $20 dollar bill in between and politely asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available. Considering it was a comped room I booked anyway I was kind of weary it would even work. Without hesitation she said absolutely, typed on the computer and showed us exactly what our upgrade was which was a premium Bellagio fountain room. All I have to say is she made my first time experiencing Vegas amazing and really made me and my mom very happy and we will definitely be returning. All I have to say is the views were amazing. Stayed on one of the high floors.

Thanks to this website, I had the confidence to try the sandwich and it was well worth it. Flew in early so after walking for hours, we checked in around 1:30. Only a few people in line and only a few clerks, so couldn’t really target. We got a nice young lady. Handed her the sandwich and when she separated the cards, the money fell out, she smiled and sat it to the side of her keyboard, and before I could even get out my line, she said let me see what I can do for you. My husband and I were very friendly and thanked her multiple times. Made small talk while she looked. Finally she said she had something nice for us–a bigger room with a great view of the fountain. Definitely worth it, and I encourage everyone who is unsure about trying (like I was) to give it a shot! We’re staying 5 nights, so we easily saved around $400.

Was checking in with my girlfriend about three hours early. Already had five out of seven nights comped.
Wasn’t busy, walked up to the first available desk clerk.
Pleasantly greeted by a youngish male. I handed him my ID, Total Rewards card, Credit card with $20 inside…He said well we will certainly give you early check-in. I will see what I can find for you.
Upgraded us to 36th floor, same room type, beautiful view of the fountains across the street, along with the early check-in and a two for one coupon for Earl Of Sandwich.
Not upgraded to a larger room but really that is pretty good compared to what I could have had.
Just being nice and taking care of the desk clerk a little can make all the difference. If they can, they will take care of you too.

My wife and I arrived in Vegas as first timers all the way from Australia. Checked in at around 11 am and there were only a few people in the check in queue. When it was my turn, I approached the staff with a big smile. We chatted for a short while. I handed my passport with the $40 inside. He smiled and asked if the money is for him. I told him, “Yes, it’s for you. Is there any complimentary upgrades available?” He said he will check and after a few seconds he said he found a better room with a view of the Bellagio fountain and the Eiffel Tower. He also waived the early check-in fee for us. When we got inside the room, we were amazed with the view (photo attached). It was a room on the 22nd floor. We enjoyed our 3 nights stay at PH.

No wait when we arrived at 11 am. Handed the check in clerk $30 sandwiched between id and credit card. Before I could even got out 2 words asking about upgrade he started nodding and said I’ll take care of you. Waived the $35 early checkin fee (got us into our room right away) and put us on 25th floor with amazing view of the strip and fountains at Bellagio. Booked 5 night stay. Well worth the 30 bucks!!

I did a double twenty because I had two requests. We had a 3rd staying with us but a roll-away was going to cost an extra $30/night if we booked it in advance so that was request #1. The second request was for a room upgrade (I specifically asked for the Resort Vista room because it was larger. Our helpful attendant was very accommodating, took care of everything and even helped our friends who were checking in next to us to also upgrade *their* room so they would be on the same floor as us.

Checked in Sunday 2/9/20 Originally booked the Ultra Hip Room for a (2) night stay. On arrival the line was a bit long, but I still opted to wait in line instead of doing the kiosk auto checkin, so I could try the “$20 Trick” and see if it would work since it was my first time trying such thing. Lucky me, a nice young lady on the VIP Registration side raised her hand and said she could help me. I Started by greeting her politely with small talk and I did as advised, tucked the $20 bill in between my ID and CC. Handed it to her when she asked for it and before I could even fully finish asking that I was wondering if there were any “complimentary upgrades available” she just said “ooh” smiled, and nodded saying Yes and that she would see what she could do. She then said yup, and that she would be upgrading me to a Suite. I said thank you and then she asked me if I also needed late checkout, to which I said sure why not. She asked if 1:00pm was fine and I said yes. I was upgraded to an Ultra Resort Vista Room, with a King Bed. Lots of big windows with amazing views of the Strip on the 17th floor. Spacious room with a really nice big tub separate from the shower which included a view of the strip as well. Definitely worth doing the $20 trick and from now on it’s a must do every time!!!! Upgraded to a suite and late checkout + waived the Resort fees which most of you know are $40+ per night. To anyone seeing this, just remember to be polite and smile. Trick should work! Happy Travels 🙂 Thank you

Saved:  $$1000 (4 nights) Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Resort Room  from  Hollywood Hip Room

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, and there was a long line, so they had a lot of staff checking people in. When it got to be our turn in line, the desk clerk clearly looked worn out, so I complimented her on how fast the line was moving. That cheered her up a little, and when she asked for my ID and credit card, I had the $20 bill between them. She smiled when she received the “sandwich” and thanked me. I then asked if there were any complimentary room upgrades, and we went from a “hip” room likely on the backside of the hotel to a roomy “resort vista” room on the top floor of the south tower overlooking the strip and the Bellagio fountains, with a huge bathroom and a view down the strip for miles. My wife was very impressed with my Vegas “know how”. Thanks, FrontDeskTrip!

Placed a folded $20 between my ID and CC, told the clerk we’d appreciate whatever he could do to find us a great room. Found one with view of Bellagio fountains, asked if that was alright, we said that sounded good. He then asked if the $20 was a tip for his service, we said yes and enjoyed our view the next 3 nights.

Showed up at the hotel desk around 7pm to check-in for our New Years trip to Vegas. I was a little skeptical because it was a holiday visit and the hotel was probably busy, but decided to go for it. Didn’t really target a specific clerk, just the first one that was available. Placed a $20 bill sandwiched between my ID and CC and gave it to the clerk. The clerk asked “Is this for me?” to which I replied “Yes, I was wondering if there were any complimentary room upgrades available?” The clerk then nodded and placed the $20 in clear view on the desk. The clerk said “Just so we’re clear, this is for my excellent customer service.” I said “Of course.” The clerk started typing and asked me if a room with a fountain view would be ok (an upgrade from my original room) and I said “Yes, that would be wonderful.” And that was it. The clerk smiled and thanked me for the tip and I thanked the clerk for the excellent customer service. Worth it. Planet Hollywood is awesome!

Planet Hollywood Details

Planet Hollywood is a Las Vegas resort and casino that was founded in 1991 by Bryan Kestner, a former actor, producer and businessman. Kestner was the founder of the Hard Rock Café, which turned out to be highly successful. He believed his Planet Hollywood venture would be equally so. The company was pretty profitable initially, but things went downhill in the 20th century. Planet Hollywood had to change hands before things started to improve.

The casino has received support from numerous celebrities. It faced a history of financial problems due to poor management and was eventually sold to Caesars Entertainment in 2010. Under new management, it has become one of the most popular casinos in The Entertainment Capital of the World.

Well Known Celebrities Support Planet Hollywood Brand

Planet Hollywood is one of the best known casinos in the world. One of the reasons it is so famous is that a large number of celebrities have endorsed it over the years. A-list celebrities that support the casino include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Demi Demore and Sylvester Salone. The casino gave many of these actors free Esops in exchange for their patronage, which helped boost the brand.

However, the value of the publicity they provided declined as they got older and their performance in the box offices started to decline. According to the Economic Times, the casino’s revenues declined after they gold older, which contributed to the problems that led to the casino filing for bankruptcy twice.

After Caesar took over the ailing establishment, it has found new ways to leverage celebrities to boost its reputation. In a rather controversial move, Planet Hollywood recently hosted a showdown between GOP presidential hopefuls Donald Trump and Marco Rubio. Planet Hollywood has also recently provided accommodations to Pitbull, Janet Jackson and other leading celebrities, which is helping improve its brand.

Britney Spears has recently spent $100,000 to make a career comeback, which includes a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood. She will be making dozens of performances at the resort, which is expected to help create traction for both parties.
