Room Upgrade Reports

Saved:  $About $200 Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  PH Resort Vistas  from  Resort Room

I decided that I would give this a try after reading about it and checking it out. I was arriving in early December and checked the Planet Hollywood site, where it seemed like the prices were pretty low so I figured that the hotel would not be too busy. I arrived around noon on a Sunday and there were only a couple of people in line so I was targeting the clerk with the football jersey on (there were only four clerks and only one was wearing a jersey) since I figured I could chat football to find some common ground. As it worked out that did not happen and I ended up with another clerk and everything worked out just fine. I had the sandwich of $25 tucked in between my credit card and driver’s license and walked up to the counter. The clerk put the money aside and we began chatting about why I was in Las Vegas and about family and I did not say a word about the upgrade. He did some typing and a minute later said how would you like a junior suite (Ultra Resort Vista room from Ultra Resort room)? I of course replied that this would be great and Thank You very much and that was that. It was a totally painless experience and I figured that all it would cost me in a worst case scenario was $25. As long as the hotels are not too busy, the chances for getting an upgrade are probably pretty good. Plus, striking up a conversation with the clerk and establishing some common ground also helped. I’m happy that it worked out and would definitely do it again.

We had a 2 nights complimentary stay at this hotel. Presented the sandwich and got a nice smile from the front desk clerk. Just mentioned that we were looking for a nice room and got the noce answer “let me check what I can do for you”. After a couple seconds, we have been told that we got a nice and spacy room which was at the 17th floor. It was an Ultra Resort King Room with Strip and Fountain view facing the Paris/Caesars and Bellagio hotels.

This is our second time staying at PH and the tip worked both times! Last year we booked a standard room (weren’t TR members yet) and were able to get a Resort Vista with $20 tip. This year, we had 3 comped nights and were able to upgrade from the Hip Room to Resort Vista with $50 tip. We chose to do $50 this time since the nights were comped. LOVE Planet Hollywood!

My cousin had a basic comped room (assuming it was basically whatever the cheapest room they had available was). I took his license, credit card, and did the sandwich with a $50.

Was upgraded to a newly remodeled Resort Room with a view of the fountains.

Didn’t really target one specific clerk since it was mostly younger women working. We checked in on a Monday night around 10 PM.

We just walked up to the first available clerk. I greeted her, put down the 20 dollar sandwich and asked if there were complimentary upgrades available. She said she would check and almost inmediately said she had one upgrade available. She later added her manage already upgraded us this morning. I like to believe the 20 dollar worked, it doesn’t really make sense for the manager to upgrade us early in the morning way before most people check in.

We checked in at 18:30 looking a bit tired/scruffy after a 4 hour drive from Death Valley and a 3 hour shopping spree at the outlet. We booked a ultra hip king bed room, got a suite with view of the bellagio and caesar’s palace.

Saved:  $600 Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  PH Panorama Suite  from  Resort Room

It was 4pm on a Wednesday. I told the clerk that my husband was turning 40, which was true, and gave her the $20. She upgraded us to an enormous panoramic suite with a 180 degree view of the strip. Our room was already comped, so we really scored!

There were 3 clerks when I arrived. I was eyeing up the guy in his 20s where the other 2 didn’t look like they would go for it. I handed over my ID Credit Card with the 20 between. He took a peak seen the 20, said lets see what I can do. He started typing away found a fountain view room for me. He felt very bad that the room was not ready for an early checkin but still gave me the better room. Not bad for a 5 night stay.

Saved:  $300 Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  PH Resort Vistas  from  Premium Fountain View

Originally had a PH premium fountain view king room 450sq feet.

For 30$ credit card sandwich.
Upgraded to 575 resort vista suite.
This room has a rather large penthouse like bathroom, and is pretty much the honeymoon suite. The bath tub in bathroom has a large window next to it. All windows have a great view of the Paris tower and bellagio fountain. The vista rooms are on the corner of the buildings.

Went up to guy at front deak. About 40 years old. I gave him the sandwich with 30$ in it. He put the 30 on the table and said “for the camera this money is for gratuity right” I said “yes”. He said, “I can definitely get you some free ice cream” I wasn’t sure what that meant so I just stood there while he was making moves on the computer. He said, “I can give you a vista, it’s in a higher floor with about 150 extra square feet. And has a bath tub that has fountain view”

Me = Let’s do it!

This was EDC weekend which brings around 300k to event so most hotels should have been sold out. My floor seemed to not be sold out

So I was actually comped this room through totalrewards (definitely do this if u have total rewards card) 4 nights costs taxes and fees of 150$ + 30 credit card sandwich got me the upgrade.

My room normal weekend costs 922$ to a room that would cst 1200 for extra 30$

It was too busy to target anyone in particular but we spoke with a very nice woman. I handed her my card, ID, and $40. Before I could say anything she saw the tip and said “thanks, I’ll see what I can do for you!” Her first offer was the panoramic suite which was $400 more per night but offered to talk to her manager to see what they could do four us. We declined because it only had one king and we had four people in our room but I wish I could’ve known what they were willing to do! Instead she upgraded us to a premium fountain view room that was larger with a beautiful view of the bellagio fountains and the entire strip. She also waived the early check in fee and offered us a complimentary roll away. It definitely worked! Just give it a try!

Planet Hollywood Details

Planet Hollywood is a Las Vegas resort and casino that was founded in 1991 by Bryan Kestner, a former actor, producer and businessman. Kestner was the founder of the Hard Rock Café, which turned out to be highly successful. He believed his Planet Hollywood venture would be equally so. The company was pretty profitable initially, but things went downhill in the 20th century. Planet Hollywood had to change hands before things started to improve.

The casino has received support from numerous celebrities. It faced a history of financial problems due to poor management and was eventually sold to Caesars Entertainment in 2010. Under new management, it has become one of the most popular casinos in The Entertainment Capital of the World.

Well Known Celebrities Support Planet Hollywood Brand

Planet Hollywood is one of the best known casinos in the world. One of the reasons it is so famous is that a large number of celebrities have endorsed it over the years. A-list celebrities that support the casino include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Demi Demore and Sylvester Salone. The casino gave many of these actors free Esops in exchange for their patronage, which helped boost the brand.

However, the value of the publicity they provided declined as they got older and their performance in the box offices started to decline. According to the Economic Times, the casino’s revenues declined after they gold older, which contributed to the problems that led to the casino filing for bankruptcy twice.

After Caesar took over the ailing establishment, it has found new ways to leverage celebrities to boost its reputation. In a rather controversial move, Planet Hollywood recently hosted a showdown between GOP presidential hopefuls Donald Trump and Marco Rubio. Planet Hollywood has also recently provided accommodations to Pitbull, Janet Jackson and other leading celebrities, which is helping improve its brand.

Britney Spears has recently spent $100,000 to make a career comeback, which includes a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood. She will be making dozens of performances at the resort, which is expected to help create traction for both parties.

Customer Reviews of Planet Hollywood

There are a number of reasons that Planet Hollywood is so strongly recommended. It is well-known for having attentive staff and providing fun activities, both for people that want to gamble or enjoy the resort. Many people have said that it is especially good for single people, since there aren’t many kids around. However, one of the biggest reasons that many people enjoy their stay at Planet Hollywood is that it is right in the center of the Strip, which makes it easy to enjoy their stay in Las Vegas.
