We needed 2 queen beds which Venetian & Palazzo charges extra for.Clerk was very receptive to bills which I placed between my license & cc. She asked numerous times if I needed change. I told her I would appreciate a great view with 2 beds & the money was my appreciation.Room w strip view overlooking pools was worth the $40 for 3 nights.

Couldnt wait to try this! Girl was very friendly and helpful. She immediately tried to return the tip and advised it wasnt necessary. I told her we were just interested in a complementary upgrade if available. She showed me some significant upgrade options and how much more per night, to which I declined. She then agreed to see what was available and located a Luxury View on the 10th floor. She asked if that would be okay, or if I would rather have higher. She found a Luxury View on the 40th floor that would soon be available if we could wait… I agreed. She again refused the tip and told me she was glad to help (she eventually accepted) She called me about an hour later to let me know everything was good to go. All I had to do was stop by and get the key to my upgraded room. Great room, great view.
at least an $80 value for giving a helpful person with a great attitude $20. pretty good deal!

Got to hotel around 12 noon. Gave clerk the sandwich and asked if any complimentary room upgrades were available. he did some checking and said he thought we would be happy with our room. I wasn’t sure if we got upgraded or not until we got to the room. It was on the 46th floor with a great view of the strip!! the standard suite here is awesome anyway, but with the added view it was even better….worth the $20, as i would not expect to get this good of a room on comp alone.

worked like a charm. heard guy next to me get the same upgrade but was charged $45/nite in order to do so. i even think his clerk was snickering at what i was doing right next to him.

Checked in at invited guest line-performed the sandwich. He saw the 20 (no reaction) and placed it on the key making machine. I asked him if there were any complimentary upgrades available for my stay. he said he would see what he could do. Typed a while, and finally siad he could upgrade me to a strip view normally a 45 dollar per night charge and was that ok? I said yes and it was done. 28th floor looking at the mirage volcanos and the TI sirens show…and the city lights and mountains beyond…very nice

Got to the hotel at about 1:30pm, a little early (check-in is at 3pm). There was a short line and a gentleman directing people to which agent was open. Prepared the $20 sandwich in line. Got to the front desk and we were greeted by a young man about 25 years old. Gave him the sandwich and asked if there was anything he could do to “make our stay more comfortable.” He said he’d take care of us. We then asked for a room on the corner with a view. After some typing he said a room at the end of the hall on the 45th floor with a strip view was available but wasn’t ready so we’d get a call when it was. We left the bags with the hotel and went to lunch. About 30 min later our suite was ready.

Here’s where it got tricky. When we got back to the front desk to get our keys the clerks were different so my leverage was gone. Our keys were programmed for a room on the 39th floor, which we readily objected to. He then found us a room on the 41st floor and we went on our way. We got to the elevators and just before we got in the clerk comes running and tells us he booked the wrong room, so back to the desk we went. Ended up getting a room on the 42nd floor overlooking TI and the pool. Nice view, but no strip view.

Moral of the story: seal the deal with the agent you tip.

Went to the check in place. The guy was really nice and clean cut. Put a 50 and a 20 in between my credit card and ID, Handed it to him, Winked and asked if he could hook me up. After about 20 mins of him typing he said “Enjoy your stay” and smiled.

I asked him what I had gotten, he said the Lago Media suite with VIP status. I couldent stop smiling.

Lago Suite – Over 1600 sqf, 7 televisions, live plants, living room, card table, 48th floor, pool table, seprate bedroom with bathroom, work out room, powder room, media room (Basically mini theater)

VIP Status – Access to Private elevators, Private check-in area, Prioraty resturant seating, Prioraty show seating/tickets, free limo ride to the airport when leaving.

VERY NICE DEAL!!!!!!!!!!! RECOMMEND YOU TRY.

i checked in around 3pm and had the sandwich ready to go. i was greeted by a male clerk around 30. he asked for my id and i gave him the sandwich and asked for a complementary upgrade. he said he would have a look. i then said i would really like two queens with a strip view. he typed for a minute and then asked if the 39th floor was high enough. i took the room and he gave me a $50 gambling credit, $50 drinking credit to LAVO and free admission to LAVO. the sandwich worked better than expected, the room was fantastic, got my money back in comps and it didnt matter that i booked on priceline

Very busy check-in, even though it was a Sunday early afternoon in December. Offered the sandwich immediately and asked if there was any possibility of a complimentary upgrade. She asked if we were celebrating something special, so I mentioned a few days away from the kids for my husband and I. She replied that she knows how hard it is to get away alone, and she’d see what she could do. Since she couldn’t get us into the Fortuna or Siena, she upgraded us to a view of the strip, beautiful room, AND gave back the $20!

Although I sandwiched two $10 bills between my credit card and drivers license the front desk clerk handed my tip back to me after lining me up with a strip-view room above the 40th floor. I asked him if he could accept my tip, and he said something about if I gave it to him directly so I handed it back to him and he thanked me for it.
