Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Executive level, Bellagio/Strip View  from  Fab Deluxe King

I did not target anyone. Just walked up to the next available gal. Gave her my ID, $20, Credit Card sandwich. Asked if we could check in early (noonish). She said, YES, and WOULD YOU LIKE AN UPGRADE? I said, “That would be great!”.
The person next to me asked to check in early and was told it was a $35 fee.
AWESOME!!! Thank you!!!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  mini suite  from  basic go room

We checked in at about 6pm. Handed the clerk mt sandwiched $20 and ask of there were any upgrades available. She left the counter for a moment but came back and offered the mini suite. We took it immediately considering we were already taking advantage of comped stay!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Go room  from  Fab delux $37 a night

I checked in around 6pm on a Monday, and there was a huge line. It took almost an hour to get to the front counter but when I did I was helped my a guy in his late 20’s. I decided to be extra nice to him just so he would be more likely to upgrade me. We chit chatted while he looked up my reservation and then when he asked for my licence and credit card I put 2, 10$ bills in between and he saw me do it and said ” ah the old sand which trick” and laughed and then went typing away and before I knew it he asked if I had ever stayed in a go room before and I hadn’t so he upgraded me to that room. It was a lot nicer than the basic room and I was pleased with the upgrade.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Upgrade Refused Despite Already Having Upgraded To Go Room via Booking Agent  from  Go

Arrived at the Flamingo to be checked in by a short, brown haired (receding) male in his late 40’s, met him with a nice smile and exchanging pleasant greetings.

On asking, with $20 sandwich clearly on display but not mentioned, we were informed that only paid upgrades were available.

Considering we had already upgraded to Go Rooms at time of booking, via Expedia, I thought we would at least get moved to a GO Room with a strip view but sadly it was not to be!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Standard Room with Strip View  from  Standard Room

I didn’t target anyone and just went to the next open clerk – An older guy maybe in his 50’s. It was after 9:00pm on Thursday night. I handed him the sandwich and said “Anything you can do to help get us a complimentary upgrade would be appreciated”. He got us on the 20th floor with an amazing view of the Strip. It would have been about a $45 upgrade normally so for the $20 I’m still considering it a win.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Flamingo Royal Suite  from  Fab Delux

I came across this site before I went to Las Vegas, and decided to try this out. Long story short, I was upgraded from their most basic room to a suite (bedroom, living room, fridge, whirle pool tub, strip view, two bathrooms, etc.). I was lucky enough to get a female (25-30-ish) clerk who I could charm. I placed a $20 in between my ID and credit card, and nicely asked for a complementary upgrade. She, smiled (this wasn’t her first time I’m sure) and was on the phone and typing for about 5-6 minutes. She asked if I was okay with a room with a fridge hot tub and I said yes. That was the LEAST of the upgrades. I also must note I was on the 27th floor, with 28th being the highest. This will forever be a memorable experience.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Go Deluxe With a Strip View  from  Go Deluxe

It was about 11 am and quite busy. I was scoping out the front desk clerks and I got called by an older gentlemen about 55 who was actually training a young lady. I was a bit nervous that it would not work because he was training a new hire. The young lady was mostly taking care of me but I did hand her my ID with a $20 bill in between my ID, Total Reward card, and Credit card. As she took all of that I politely asked if there was any complimentary upgrades. The older man who seemed cranky and stressed out training her , said in a mean tone “No upgrades today” Then he looked down and saw the $20 there then said “Let me see what I can do” He pretty much pushed her aside and took over. I then was waiting for about 2-3 minutes and he finally gave me my room keys and stated “Okay I got you a nice room on the 19th floor overlooking the strip right on the end near the elevator” He also did not charge me to check in early. It was 11 am and went straight to our room which was great right off the elevator and on the corner which overlooked Caesars, Bellagio, and Cosmopolitan, and in the other direction was the Mirage.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Go  from  Fab

I AM a Front Desk Clerk (Agent) on the strip.
20.00 will get you upgraded but the higher you go the better the upgrade. Choosing a “target”? Who came up with that? We all do the SAME thing, young, old, male, female clerk. Just make sure you are checking in at a union hotel, because managers can’t do check ins…It’s in the contract.
The Tip Sandwich is discrete and we know what you want, you really don’t even have to ask. If we can’t do it we’ll give the money back. However, the money must pass from your hand, because we have also had people try to scam us by waving around a twenty dollar bill, taking the keys and putting the twenty back in their pocket. If you do this, your keys will not work when you get to the room because we’ll change the room number back to what you booked, you’ll have to come back stand in line again and who knows what you’ll end up with? Low floor, last room at the end of the hall with no view? Not wise to scam the clerk. Hope this helps, and YES this website is Awesome, the sandwich is the real deal.
