Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Excalibur Widescreen Room  from  Standard

My wife and I did not pick our clerk she was open so we went forward, told her the check-in name and handed her the credit card with the $20 folded once between that and the ID, she was searching on the computer for the room, when she separated the cards and saw the $20, then we asked for a complementary room upgrade, she said one second let me look and said we’ve upgraded to a king size Excalibur Widescreen Room, non-smoking, and off to the room we went, decent hotel, get what you pay for, we didn’t spend much time in our room

Tipped:  $0 Upgraded to  Widescreen King Room  from  King Tower Room

We walked to the line and the first available of two clerks on at 8pm called us over. Had the $20 in my hand! Asked the clerk if there were any complimentary upgrades available. She said let me check and about a minute later I was upgraded to a great widescreen room. Didn’t have to use the $20 but gave it to her anyway!!!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Standard with a view  from  Standard

Had to wait about 10 minutes in line to check in…tried the $20 sandwich which was promptly returned to me with the comment “I can’t take this”. I asked for complimentary upgrade and was informed that I could get a room with a view, but not a newly remodeled room without paying the upgrade fee. I tipped the clerk after the transaction because he upgraded my whole party of 3 rooms.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Wide screen Strip View  from  Standard

There was no line a check in around 6:30 pm on a Wednesday night. I went to the first employee who motioned to me who was a younger female. I gave the twenty and asked if there were ant complimentary upgrades this week. She said she would see what she could do and gave us a Wide Screen Strip View without any problem. Note that this was during a busy time in Vegas- March Madness.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  No dice  from  Standard Room

Unfortunately, no dice. I put $20 between my credit card and license and asked if any upgrades were available. She almost seemed embarrassed in telling me no. She was nice about it and waited for me to take the $20 back. My impression is that Excalibur is trying hard to sell upgrades (there are upgrade offers posted all over the check-in area). Oh well, I tried.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Widescreen with a view  from  Standard

I checked in about midnight and it was busy. I had no choice and went to the first clerk available. Female in her mid 40’s. I booked a standard room but a week prior I called and upgraded to a widescreen room. I was told that when I arrived I would need to put the upgrade amount ($20 a day) on my credit card. The clerk said that she noticed I had made an upgrade and would need to put that on my credit card. I served my sandwich and asked if there were any complimentary upgrades. She did not say anything and just started plugging away on her computer. It probably took 3-5 minutes but seemed like 30 minutes had passed. She said that she was able to get me a widscreen room with a view ($30 a day value) for no charge. She handed back my empty sandwich and I was on my way!!!!!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Widescreen with Strip-view  from  Standard

We arrived around 10pm. I decided to go to a female clerk in her early 20ties. Just before I got there another counter opend up and a young guy (also in his early 20ties) waved me over. I gave him my reservation printout and when asked handed over my driver’s license and credit card. I prepared the sandwhich before walking up to the counter. While handing over the sandwhich I asked if they had any complimentary upgrades available. He asked me what I had in mind and I told him that a widescreen room would be nice (thought it was too much to ask for a suite). He nodded and started checking his computer. After a minute I got a widescreen room with a strip view. I will definatly try this again next time!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Wide Screen Deluxe Room  from  Tower Room

We checked in around noon, and got a very nice woman clerk. I greeted her and handed her my reservation confirmation e-mail after which is asked for my Credit Card and ID. I had the $20 bill sandwiched in between and kindly asked if there were any complimentary upgrades available as I handed it to her. She quickly smiled, and said she would see what she could find. We ended up with a beautiful newly renovated deluxe room, with a poolside view and an extended check-out time! =) Definitely worth it, and will be trying it again next time.
