Tipped:  $40 Upgraded to  Augustus Tower Suite on 43rd floor  from  Standard Basic Room

Worked fantastically! I had booked basic, standard Room at Caesars. Checked in at 1:30pm. I was staying for 5 days, so I slipped $40 between the license and credit card. Asked for complimentary upgrade and said I was hoping for the Augustus tower… He took my ID and put the money aside on the lower counter, and said that this was their very busy July 4 weekend, but he would see what he could do…

Said if I did not mind a smoking room he had one suite available on the 43rd floor of the Augustus tower! I said perfect! He called his supervisor on the phone (I heard him say something like there had been a problem and I was in line a very long time); he hung up and said the room was mine! He wrote his name on my room card and said if there was anything I needed, to give him a call.

The room did not smell smokey at all. It had a fantastic view of the strip; marble bathroom, two plasma TVs…. Worked like a charm!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Deluxe Room - Augustus Tower  from  Deluxe Room - Palace Tower

We arrived at check in at 11:45 am. The lady at check in saw the $20 and knew what we were looking for. Asked her for a room in the Augustus tower with a view as I had read horror stories about the other towers. After looking around she finally offered an upgrade for $40/ night. Tried for a complimetary one but she refused so we took it. Although we paid, the room was AWESOME.. 39th floor.. a view of the srip, bellagio fountains and Paris. It was totally worth it.But the $20 did not work.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Deluxe Palace Tower  from  Classic

This SO worked. Highly recommend. Did exactly as everyone else has, and slipped the $20 between the credit card and photo id. The clerk knew exactly what was up, and typed away to see what she could do. I added that it was my birthday the next day to help as well. I’m definitely doing this from now on, and will try $40 next time for an even better room.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Deluxe Augustus Tower Room  from  Standard

We checked in about 4pm in the afteroon. I put a $20 bill on the counter and asked the gentleman if their were any complimentary upgrades. He asked what exactly I was looking for. Told him we were looking for something roomy and a great view. He left the money on the counter while he searched the computer. He said, “I am going to take this because I have got you the a great room in the Augustus Tower.” It was a great room. We really loved the room and it was a great view of the Bellagio fountains.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Room in the new Augustus Tower  from  Standard double room

We had 6 nights booked for a standard double at CP. My brother and I tipped $20 to the lady on the checkin desk and without an issue were upgraded to a room in the Augustus tower.

I checked the web and during the time of my stay the upgrade was worth around $100 a night.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Palace Tower Suite  from  Comped Room

This was soooo easy. I waited forever in a long line and when it was finally my turn, I walked up with $20 sandwiched between id and credit card. She immediately knew what was up. Since there were so many people around, I didn’t feel comfortable asking for a “comp upgrade” so I simply asked if there was anything available in the Palace or Augustus towers (both are equally deluxe). She said, “well, I do have a suite in the Palace tower, but it is non-designated.” I was a little concerned and she said that simply meant it could be smoking or non. We took it and didn’t smell smoke at all. Two-person jacuzzi, early check-in, and view of Bellagio/strip for $20? Sweeeet!

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Palace Tower Suite  from  Deluxe Tower

I had two separate reservations through online deals because I ended up with a flight into Vegas a day earlier than I had expected. 6/3 checking in with Michael. He slipped the $20 right into his jacket pocket, made a phone call and came back with the suite upgrade. He did tell me that becaue of the two separate reservations that he couldn’t hold that room for the entire stay, but that I might get lucky if I came down to the desk early the next day.

6/4 went down to the desk, waited in line for keys/mail/room changes for 15 minutes, got frustrated & started over toward the main counter when I saw an opening. The desk agent, Andrew, didn’t see me and waved someone else over, seeing me only after he’d done this. As soon as he was done with that guest he waved me over, I handed over my room key, ID, $20 and credit card. He set the $20 on the counter, punched away at the keyboard and told me that while he didn’t have a suite, he did have a 44th floor oversized room with a view of the Bellagio fountains that I could change to right away. Very nice rooms in the new tower. A friend checking in that morning just after I switched rooms was told that nothing would be available until after 3pm… she didn’t try the $20 trick.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Upgraded King Suite  from  Standard King

Out in Vegas for Wedding.
Same as all before. $20 slipped between CC and DL.
Clerk does not go behind the curtain, but punches furiously on the computer.
Also, acted very suprized that the computer would let him put us in the room.
(Got the same room as the Bride/Groom who paid for an upgraded suite, on a higher floor and better view.) Key here I believe was to have the duration of my stay fall during the week.
Another member of the wedding party tried the same technique, with no luck and got stuck in the crappy Palace Tower as he was staying Fri night as well.

Tipped:  $20 Upgraded to  Tower Penthouse Suite  from  Tower Deluxe

when she refused to take the bribe, we thought oh, it’s over. but then she said, I will look it(free upgrade) for you, of course! several minutes later, she came back with “good news!”, we were upgraded to the same penthouse floor as Elton John and Celine Dion. The suite was more than 1500 sf, one large guest bathroom and a huge master bathroom. the clerk said normally the room asks for 3000 per night. I was so happy because my parents travel with us and the trip became definitely a most memorable one for them.
