“The Transformers Experience” is coming to Las Vegas

Next year “The Transformers Experience” will make its way to Treasure Island on the Las Vegas Strip. This Transformers exhibit is still in development and will be exclusive to Las Vegas for a long time. This won’t be the kind of exhibit where you look art and artifacts at and move on.The Transformers Experience will be a 3-D immersive experience spread out over 28,000 square feet. The experience should take about an hour to complete.

Treasure Island is dedicating the second and third floors of its recently completed 40,000 square-foot retail space toThe Transformers Experience. You may be more familiar with this part of Treasure Island as the empty retail space above the CVS on the corner of Spring Mountain looking out to The Palazzo, Wynn and the Fashion Show Mall.

This experience is being billed as a more family friendly experience than the free Sirens of TI show that used to be offered outside on the lagoon in front of Treasure Island. The Transformers Experience will use 3D technology, robotics, multimedia, projection mapping, intricate sets and engaging performances to bring the battle of Autobots and Decepticons to life. The technology is expected to make this as realistic as possible for a cartoon.

The Transformers franchise is one of the most recognizable of all time,” said Nicholas Cooper, Chief Creative Officer of Victory Hill Exhibitions. “With such a rich story universe that expands across all platforms including digital, broadcast, theatrical, print and toy, this is the perfect time to debut an exhibition of this scale and magnitude. Transformers fans of all generations know the names Optimus Prime and Megatron and with this new exhibit we are going to bring those larger-than-life characters into our world in an equally larger-than-life way.”

“Since its launch in 1984, Transformers rich immersive storylines and iconic characters have entertained generations of fans through film, publishing and TV,” said Tom Warner, Senior Vice President- Transformers Franchise. “We are excited to work with Victory Hill Exhibitions and see our robots brought to life through a multi-sensory interactive experience for fans around the world.”

This won’t be a short term exhibit as Victory Hill Exhibitions has signed a 10-year lease for the space. Specific details on The Transformers Experience haven’t been released yet but it’s expected to open March or April of 2016. Prices for the experience haven’t been set as there is still $2 million worth of construction to do on the space.
