Memorial Day Weekend In Las Vegas

Posted on Categories Activities

Memorial Day Weekend is upon us and Las Vegas is ready to party. Memorial Day Weekend takes place from May 24 through 27. The unofficial beginning of summer is one of the busiest weekends in Sin City. Not coincidentally, Las Vegas happens to be the second most popular destination in the US to visit this summer according to Trip Advisor.

The extra day for a long weekend makes Memorial Day Weekend one of the most fun times to visit Las Vegas. The large crowds everywhere boost the energy of an already electric atmosphere in Las Vegas. Having an extra day of people gives entertainment venues a reason to bring in more performers than usual.

As you might imagine the dayclubs and nightclubs will have their most popular resident performers and special big name guests. However, the action isn’t limited to clubs and casinos. Downtown Las Vegas is bringing the rock with the Punk Rock Bowling music festival and first of this summer’s free Downtown Rocks concerts at the Fremont Street Experience on Friday night.

We’ll take a look at some things to see and do for Memorial Day Weekend in Las Vegas:

Hit the dayclubs

The kickoff to summer should be spent outdoors. The dayclubs (and nightclubs) are bringing in their most popular resident DJ’s and special guest performers. Here are some highlights from the weekend at the dayclubs:

  • Tiesto and Calvin Harris perform at Wet Republic (MGM Grand)
  • Marshmello and Kascade return to KAOS (Palms)
  • Rick Ross and Jeezy perform at Daylight (Mandalay Bay)
  • Quest Love spins at Jemaa (Park MGM)
  • Ja Rule stops by the Flamingo GO Pool

Catch a residency

Las Vegas residencies aren’t what they used to be. Today, they’re limited engagements spread throughout the year instead of the same show every night. Memorial Day Weekend is when many of the most popular new residencies take place in Las Vegas.

Watch some punk rock

Good Charlotte may not be the punks they used to be but they’re kicking off Memorial Day Weekend with a free concert at the Fremont Street Experience on Friday, May 24th.

Punk Rock Bowling takes over downtown from May 25th through 27th. More than 120 bands will perform at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (across from The D) and other venues in downtown Las Vegas.

Similar to the clubs, the parties take place during the day and night. You can see the full festival lineup here and the club show lineup here.
