Monte Carlo will be undergoing renovations for the next couple of years as the casino-resort becomes Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas. The property will remain open throughout the renovations. However, certain areas of Monte Carlo will be closing so that they can be renovated.

The first area closing is on the west side of the hotel, near the hotel lobby. Beginning October 3, the pool, The Pub and shopping area Street of Dreams will be closing permanently. The Street of Dreams includes a Harley-Davidson store and a handful of retail outlets. The “Street” is also a walkway to Aria, but it hasn’t been made clear if the area will remain passable.

The construction that will change Monte Carlo into Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas will conclude in late 2018. In the meantime, Monte Carlo hotel guests will still be able to use a pool. The location of that pool will eventually change. After October 3, guests will be given access to pools at other MGM Resorts properties. Different options will be provided for guests upon check-in. The walkway to Aria would come in handy for guests.

Over the next two years all hotel rooms at the soon to be former Monte Carlo will be completely redesigned and renovated. The changes to the hotel rooms will happen one floor at a time. This will allow the majority of the hotel rooms to always be available.

The Park Theater is considered part of the makeover at Monte Carlo but it’s already under construction. The theater will be the first “new” piece of Park MGM to open later this year.
