MGM Resorts International and Sydell Group announced a partnership to reimagine Monte Carlo Resort on the famed Las Vegas Strip with two distinct hotel experiences – Park MGM and The NoMad Las Vegas.

MGM Resorts has been teasing a renovation and rebranding of Monte Carlo for almost a year now. Just about every pundit took a shot at what the new name but nobody predicted what MGM Resorts would actually do.

MGM Resorts and New York-based Sydell Group have announced a partnership to reimagine and rebrand Monte Carlo. The plans include a renovation and rebrand of the property that will cost approximately $450 million. The renovation will touch every element of the property and include two distinct hotel experiences: a Las Vegas version of Sydell’s widely acclaimed NoMad Hotel, and the launch of a new luxury hotel named Park MGM.

All hotel rooms at the soon to be former Monte Carlo will be completely redesigned and renovated. Each hotel will feature an innovative food & beverage experiences which will be unique to Las Vegas. Well, maybe not entirely unique. Restaurants will include the award-winning NoMad restaurant by Chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara and Eataly’s vibrant Italian marketplace with cafes, to-go counters and full-service restaurants interspersed with high-quality products from sustainable Italian and local producers.

This will be the final evolution of the area that includes T-Mobile Arena and The Park. “We are thrilled to partner with Sydell Group as we enter the final phase of transforming the neighborhood that we believe represents Las Vegas’ true entertainment epicenter,” said Bill Hornbuckle, president of MGM Resorts International. “Coupling MGM’s rich legacy of hospitality and entertainment with Sydell Group’s expertise in creating hotels that cultivate a strong sense of place will result in a destination that both celebrates the history of Las Vegas and ushers in a new era.”

Hornbuckle added, “We are particularly excited that this partnership also allows us to expand the new Park MGM brand into traditional hospitality ventures in key gateway cities.” This could provide an interesting hotel loyalty partnership for MGM Resorts’ customers.

MGM Resorts will announce a name change to their M life players club next week. There are rumors that the new M life Rewards will include a credit card. Expect more specific information to be revealed about the rebranding and renovations as work begins.
