New Hotel Rooms Coming To The Strat And Binion’s

Posted on Categories Hotels

It’s a new year and that means there are new hotel rooms to enjoy. First, we’ll look at a new category of rooms at The Strat (formerly Stratosphere) where you might want to use the $20 Trick. Then will look at some new hotel rooms that you’ll be able to find in downtown Las Vegas. Unfortunately, it only appears as though there’s one category of hotel rooms at Binion’s.

The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod

The Stratosphere, Casino, Hotel & Tower was purchased by Golden Entertainment in 2017. Last year they started to upgrade and renovate the property. This year they’re revealing many of the changes along with new hotel rooms and a new name for the property.

Say hello to The Strat (sorry, I can’t bring myself to use all caps every time I say the name). The Strat is updating everything from the hotel rooms to the players club. Here’s a quick rundown of the changes over the past year that you’ll see next time you visit The Strat.

  • A new Baccarat gaming pit with six tables
  • 311 “Elevate” hotel room series
  • A new menu and remodel of the Top of the World restaurant
  • New restaurants: Strat Café & Wok and 108 Eats by James Trees
  • A new True Rewards players club replacing ACE Rewards

The renovations continue this year with a new sportsbook, The BLVD & Main Taphouse, and View Lounge opening this spring. The Strat will also open the newly renovated Observation Decks on floors 108 and 109 this spring. The sportsbook should be open in time for the first weekend of March Madness.

The casino floor will also see an update with a “Link Lounge” filled with Lighting Link, Dragon Link, and Liberty Link slot machines.

Oh yeah, the Skypod part of The Strat name refers to the part of the property with the rides and observation decks.

Elevate Rooms At The Strat

Only 311 of the nearly 2,500 hotel rooms at The Strat will be Elevate rooms. The renovated hotel rooms certainly as if they’ll be worthy of an upgrade. Not only do these rooms have a new look but they have new furniture and amenities.

The new Elevate rooms are the same 340 square feet as the regular hotel rooms. What separates these rooms is a clean and modern design with upgraded features. Unlike most hotel rooms in Las Vegas, Elevate rooms offer complimentary coffee in every room.

The Elevate rooms at The Strat have new mattresses and bedding as well as a new walk-in shower with frosted glass. The upgraded TV in the room measures 55 inches diagonally. The bedside tables have integrated charging stations for your mobile devices.

Hotel Apache At Binion’s

Binion’s Gambling Hall recently announced a couple of expansion projects at their downtown Las Vegas casino. When the 81 room Hotel Apache opens this summer it will mark the first time that Binion’s will have hotel rooms in almost 10 years. You might remember that Binion’s closed the hotel in 2009.

The original Hotel Apache opened in 1932. The new “boutique” hotel will have vintage-style furniture to keep the old Vegas vibe intact. Supposedly, these rooms are haunted so anyone looking for a spooky time knows where to go.

It appears as though there will only be one type of room at Binion’s this summer so the only “upgrade” available might be a reduction of any fees they might decide to charge.
