Renovated South Point Hotel Room

The South Point Hotel, Casino, and Spa recently unveiled a $40 million remodel plan for its hotel rooms. The renovation will include all three hotel towers at South Point. Each of the 2,049 rooms and 84 suites will feature new furniture, luxury flooring, crown molding, mini refrigerator and bathroom upgrades.

The first phase of the redesign will begin in April and will be completed by September 2018. Like other recent hotel room renovations, guests won’t have to for all of the rooms to be updated to stay in an upgraded hotel room at South Point. The hotel already has 100 new rooms on sale for reservations beginning in May 2018. Reservations can be made today at the South Point website.

Even though the first phase will be complete by September, this will be a slow and long upgrade. The three-year renovation project at South Point will refurbish one hotel tower each year and should be complete by September 2020. By the end of 2018, more than 630 newly designed rooms will be available for guests. The new rooms will cost an extra $10 upgrade fee from the old hotel rooms at the casino. Sounds like a good excuse to try the $20 trick if you’re staying for longer than a weekend.

The new hotel rooms at South Point will feature a variety of upgrades to reflect an elegant and modern design with new amenities. The guest rooms will offer a refreshed look with new Bernhardt furniture, such as beds, dressers, nightstands, chairs, sitting tables, and lounge chairs with an ottoman.

Keeping up with modern technology the guest rooms offer lamps with power and USB ports, functional desks for business executives and a new color palette. Of course, technology moves so quickly that this upgrade might be out of date by the time all of the rooms see a renovation in late 2020.

“We live in a city that is continuously evolving and we are always looking for opportunities to improve our guests’ experiences to set us apart from other properties,” said Ryan Growney, General Manager of South Point Hotel, Casino, and Spa. “The last five years have consisted of a lot of exciting development projects that we strongly believe create a unique experience that only we can offer, and we are excited to unveil our new room upgrades, which we believe our guests will really enjoy.”

South Point Highlights

The South Point Casino Hotel is the casino for anyone that loves horses. They are home to more horse related events than any casino in Las Vegas. You’ll even find horse statues and saddles on display on the casino floor.

The casino itself has a separate horse and sports books. This is the only casino that offers a separate viewing and wagering area for each type of bettor. The sports book at the South Point sports book offers some of the sharpest betting lines and odds in Las Vegas. Sports bettors will find VSiN (Vegas Stats & Information Network) broadcast studios just a few feet from the sports and race books.

The South Point has quietly been upgrading the property over the past five years. Here are just a few of the major updates:
